Rugs?

I'm currently renovating my living room and am looking for a rug.  Not the type Paul Daniels is happily modelling for GetWokingham above, but the floor covering variety.  I have trawled the usual suspects - but nothing is floating my boat.  It has to straddle, vintage looking, colourful and unique - I would love a muted tartan one...  Any ideas anyone? Paul....?!

  8. Hi Lilacs in May
As it looks as if we may meet up at Justine's private writers' festival. I thought I should try to get to know a little more about you so looked on here. Lovely blog - I will come here more often. We (my Ex-pat Geordie) partner and I arrive in London on the 20th June for a two month stay in the UK and this time also Crotia. I was born in Hudderfield but migrated here to Tasmania at eight with my parents. Now recently retired from being first a high school teacher of English and latterly, president of our teachers' union.

Will be lovely to meet up with you if it all goes to plan.

  9. Hello Jaywalker, so lovely of you to stop by.
How fantastic that you will be here all the was from Tasmania, it looks like the activity is calming down on the volcanic front -according to a geologist on Radio 4 this morning. I worked at a Further Education college until last year, I quit to work from home, I find the commute most agreeable! I have been to Oz, but never to Tasmania. My grandfather was a Geordie who walked 'down south' after the first World War to find work, my family have remained here ever since, I live about 30 miles from London.

I will keep my fingers crossed that the weather behaves, that you get here, and that in just under a months time we will meet, in Justine's sun drenched garden.
